AWB sunset, what does it get us?

So, what exactly does the 94' AWB sunset get us in terms of weapons that are once again legal for sale? I know that we get our full-cap magazines and collapsible stocks, etc. But, I am trying to get a list of the guns we can buy again.
Do we get the MP5 (I know, SP89)?
Colt AR-15 9mm (did the ban kill this one for civilians)?
Norinco (cheap AKs again!)?
I have a few purchases that I have been holding off on hoping that new production will kill the RIDICULOUS prices for stuff. I can buy a new car for the prices that some HK stuff is going for. I dream of MP5 K guns just like the next guy, but I would rather put that kind of money in my 401k... :what:
PS- I did look... If this has been discussed before, I couldn't find it.

Hopefully this will be the beginning of the end of feel good legislation. There are several more laws that need to sunset also. The Patriot Act is of about as much use as the Assault weapons ban.

The 1994 AW ban and crime bill does not have much effect on any specific guns. It bans certain combinations of features such as bayonet lugs, folding stocks, pistol grips and it bans handguns that weigh more than a certain amount.
The sunset would allow US manufacturers to make whatever kind of semiautos they wanted and sell them to whoever wanted to buy them (legally).
The AWB does not apply to imported homeland defense rifles, further import of those was outlawed by another ban in 1989.
Once the ban sunsets, it looks like a US company could make krinkov clones using enough US parts to get around the import ban, they could sell semiauto MAC-10 handguns again, and other fun stuff.

I don't think it was affected by the ban

That MAC is only new because it's sat on a dealer's shelf for a long time. They currently can't manufacture any more for us.

...things that better-than-thou peoples in high places think we petty citizens have no business owning. <edit for spelling>
I already told the gunstore I frequent that I'm buying an M4 pattern Bushy with the collapsible stock and flash suppressor if/when the ban goes away...

It looks like a post-ban, there is no threading on the barrel.
BTW- I did find some more ban posts after I started this thread. Isn't that always the way...

Do we get the MP5 (I know, SP89)?
No. The HK-94 and SP89, along with the Chinese AKs, are classified as non-sporting firearms and cannot be imported. There are plenty of low priced "US" made AK clones on the market and there is one US company making SP89 clones. There is also a rumor that H&K will open a US plant. If they do, then you may see the HKs back on the US market.
Colt AR-15 9mm (did the ban kill this one for civilians)?
You can buy 9mm ARs now.

RPBUSA among others are making new post-ban MAC style pistols again I believe. RPB has some cool side cockers and models that take Sten mags too...
I think we'll get alot more goodies once the ban sunsets. All the evil features will be back, including on imports with the addition of US parts like they are already doing. However there is nothing stopping stuff like Galils and FNCs, etc from coming in now if they had the right US parts and no evil features. But they aren't coming in, too lazy to change them? Beats me. Main thing I'm looking forward to cheap magazines again. Can't believe crappy mags for my damn .22 are $50+...

There is no doubt in my mind that it will not sunset peacefully. A new ban will be sure to follow.
My biggest hope is that when the new ban takes effect it will not backdate to 94. At least then all post bans up to the new ban date will instantly be prebans. That's why I'm stocking up on AR lowers right now.
Good Shooting
