Best guess??? 1956 according to the Supica/Nahas standard catalog....if I read it correctly.....Lance:)

I concur with lanceman, but even the SCSW is rather spotty on the early J frame SN ranges. Best bet is to get it lettered by Mr. Jinks at S&W.

Thanks guys. I was told it was pre 1958 so 1956 sounds about right. It has the normal sized trigger gaurd not the small one which I think was early. It does have the small round butt grips that are smaller than the later round butt j-frame grips.
