M45 Marlin where are you?

What happened to the model 45 Marlin (45ACP) carbines? Were they such junk they fell from the earth or what? I want a cheap 45ACP carbine to play with (and ward off two legged snakes), but they are non-existant at the shows and web sights I've looked at.
Does anyone else make something to fit the bill and if not, WHY?

Camp 45s can sometimes be found on Gunbroker, Auction Arms, GunsAmerica. Typically about $450+.
Also look at MechTech CCU units www.mechtechsys.com ~$300
Feather Arms http://www.featherusa.com/page3.html ~$800
Beretta CX-4 Storm http://www.cx4storm.com ~$650

That is a good question. You would think with the current popularity of 1911's, and .45acp in general, that a companion carbine would be a hot seller. But then... that's probably why I'm not running a gun company.

what i've always wondered is "where's the Ruger 45 carbine??" i mean we've got the PC9 (9mm) and PC4 (40S&W) so where's the PC45??
if they'd make it i'd buy it. and if Ruger followed the same mold as the other two, it would make alot more sense to me than the camp carbines did. due to using the same magazines as the pistols in .45.

Agree with your Ruger comment, but didn't Camp carbines take pistol magazines? the 45 took 1911 and 9 mm took S&W

I think the original models use a standard 1911 mag - not Ruger pistol mags.

oh ok i was mistaken,
thought that the camp carbines used a marlin specific magazine (and that this lead at least partially to their demise).
