have any of you tried any of these powders AA 2520, AA 2015BR, BLC-2, IMR 4895, IMR 4320, Varget, Win 748 and H380? Why did you or did you not like any of these?

I have and still do use 4895, Varget, and W748. I like them all, and I`m sure the other powders will get raves also. Use them in their appropriate place and all of them should perform well.

I shoot a lot of 4895 in my 7-08, 308 and 30/30. It is a good all around powder.

varget: love it in the 308 and its offspring (7-08, 243, 25 souper). hate it in 223, 22-250. meters ok, consistent powder.

h-380: love it in 22-250 and 8x57. meters well, extremely accurate.

Varget requires more care to meter/trickle the exact charge weight if you use traditional powder measures. It meters wonderfully thru my Lyman DPS 1200-II and takes about eight seconds for a perfect measure.

(+) It does not require magnum primers, even in cold weather. Heavier bullets love it. Very consistent throughout temperature extremes even with the same primer.

(-) It's more expensive than most other powders in its class. Not the preferred powder for throwing quick charges.

BL-(C)2 meters almost perfectly thru traditional powder measures like my Lyman #55 (but it is horrible when I use the DPS 1200-II digital powder system because it slows things down to a crawl).

(+) Achieves some of the highest velocities among ball powders while keeping within SAAMI specs.

(-) can have some pressure issues (pierced primers) in very hot conditions unless you use the correct primer.

All good powders when used appropriately. What are you wanting to load?

I use BLC(2) and W748 for 223. Both meter good in my pro auto disk and both seem to shoot good.

based on the powders selected for review i would guess he is loading for 223. but they are all good powders. my favorite among them would be BL-c2 as it is usable in such a large number of calibers. and its cheap to:)
