Have you ever worn hearing protection while hunting? I imagine long-range varmint shooting wouldn't be affected and even some wing shooting, I guess. But listening for bambis (while reading the paperback) could be hindered. A post in the reloading forum got me thinking.

I hunt from a stand on a CRP field, my shots aren't normally quick. I usually have plenty of time to put ears on before pulling the trigger. . .But since I prefer bow hunting over firearms, it usually isn't a problem :D

I've considered getting a pair of electronic muffs. Enhanced hearing with volume control plus electronic sound damping in one package. Might keep the ears a little less frosty when the temp. drops into the teens or lower too!

I have worn Tac-6's or Tac-7's on occasion while hunting. Unfortunately, it gets uncomfortable after a while.
