Mystery Grips?

I was at a gun show awhile back and traded for a few sets of grips. Among them were these. The fella said they were for an N frame S&W and I made the mistake of not looking closely enough. They are not for a S&W, locating pin hole is in the wrong place. They are not for a Colt, same reason. A Rossi? A Taurus? I'm not sure so if anyone knows let me know. Thanks. Pics below.

I'm sure *I* won't be able to tell you the answer anyhow, but if you include a pic, I bet you'll bump way up the odds of getting an answer from the resident revolver gurus :)

OHHHHHH, the pin is in the wrong place?
They are clearly for a Taurus tracker.
Hope this helps.;)

Look like aftermarkets for a Glock Snubnose.

Just take them your local shop and ask to see if they fit anything there.
Its pretty much impossible for someone here to tell you from a picture.

Hmm. "29" is scribbled on them and the bottom is square. I will make a SWAG and say they are probably for a S&W N-frame, square butt. Send them to me and I can tell you. :D

Some of y'all don't read. The question is what brand of gun these are for. Note the location of the locating pin hole. Smiths have the pin below the grip screw hole. Colt's have the pin towards the front of the grip frame (at least my older Colt's do) so who makes guns with the pin hole set like this one towards the rear of the grip frame? That's the question. Likely though I'll take them by my local gunatorium and take the grips off a few guns and see.

Tip, I was funnin ya, you asked what kind of grips they were with no pic at first.
I'm with Feanaro, one of the most prevalent revolvers of all time is the Mod 29, there is a 29 written inside the grips. Safe guess, but it is a guess.

I know you were joking. But they do not fit a 29 or any other Smith cuz the locating pin hole is in the wrong place!!!
Maybe I oughta just drill a couple of hole in the right place and try that.

I'd guess a Taurus revolver... Square butt K frame style. Don't have one handy anymore but they had a pin like that... just can't remember if it was in the middle or in the back like that.

I've seen a couple of Ruger grips on Gunbroker with the location pin on the rear, don't remember which model. With the location of the screw, possibly a Vaquero or Security Six.

almost looks like a set for a Ruger Security-Six but the top "tab" doesn't look tall enough.

I know the Spanish Astras were a copy of the S&W but used a differently placed screw hole. Possibly for one of them?
Just checked my Astra and the hole is in that position

Heh, woops. Brain was on auto-pilot. It's been a while since I looked under the grips of a Taurus but I don't believe they have two pins. Might be an older Taurus.

Pulled out my security-six and looked at the insides of the packmayer grips. looks pretty much identical to the inside of the ones pictured. I'm now pretty sure you have a set for a Ruger Security-Six though I certainly could be wrong.

Those grips are a good reason to keep buying revolvers until you find one that fits the grips. Tell your wife I said that's okay.
