Are all 1911 slides interchangeable?,that is,can I use a lets say,a Charles Daly slide on a Colt series80?
I would really like a Caspian 1911 slide but lots of people say that there are compatibility problems.
Any advice? Thanks ahead:)

Ignoring the firing pin safety issues for a minute, I would say that MOST slides for M1911 pistols will interchange. This would be almost certain if one were to stay inside one brand.
Going between brands, there is some chance they will NOT interchange without some "fiddling".
There IS the issue of the firiing pin safety systems on some models and brands of M1991 pistols. Colt uses one type, and some other companies use other variations.
To insure compatibility, the firing pin safety system would have to be removed from the slide AND FRAME if one were to attempt to mate various brands of slides and frames together.

For the most part, they should be interchangable.

Theoretically yes, except for firing pin safety systems such as Colt's Series 80 and Kimbers Series II. In actuallity, commercially made 1911's vary in tolerances, so a slide may or may not fit properly.
