Well, after 6 months of fun, finally got the first of my silencers in. It is a gemtech outback 2. First impression, this thing is amazing. Basically turns a 22 into a paintball sounding weapon. Or sounds like a pellet rifle. Have had it attached to a walther p22 and a ruger 10/22. Several friends have come over to shoot with it, and all have been impressed. Have put 1200 rds through it. Due to increased back pressure on the bore, the powder build up on the actions is worse than on an ar. Guns are going to need some serious cleaning time. I have also noticed a complete lack of flinching. I can actually see my bullets going down range, which is something I have never been able to do before. If the Gemtech Blackside in 40 I ordered is as good as the outback..... I live in WV, and could not find any laws on the books concerning silencers and hunting. Checked with local Conservation officer, and neither could he. So come squirrel season, this is going to be one cool toy.
