i have a 92f not 92fs. i ask cause some of those mags say they are for 92f/s and some say 92fs. i really like the 20 round mag but it says its for 92fs. would it fit and work on my 92f?

The 92F and 92FS are the same pistol. The 92FS has a couple of safety modifications. A magazine for a 92F will work in the 92FS and vice versa. Be careful about aftermarket mags. Beretta advises that they not be used because quite a number of them malfunction. The factory recommends that you use only Beretta mags or the mags from MDS (a subsidiary of Beretta). I know Beretta mags are expensive but personally I want mine to work each and every time. I have never had a problem with my Cx4 Storm (92 set up), my personal 92F, or my issued M-9 (92FS). I'm with the Dept. of the Army Police and we still issued the Beretta.

Mec-Gar makes a 17 round flush fit magazine for the Beretta 92. They've worked well for me although I shoot the ones for the Taurus PT-92 a lot more.
As long as your 92 has the mag catch in the "normal" place for the right hand thumb to push the mags are the same for all. If I recall correctly, the Mec-Gar mags also have the cutout for the much older "button on the bottom of grip" Beretta and Taurus 92 models. The Taurus and Beretta mags have the thumb catch cutout made slightly different and thus don't interchange.

As far as aftermarket mags go, Mec-Gar manufactured mags tend to work well, in my experience, in many different guns. Pro-Mag magazines on the other hand should be avoided whenever possible.

Mec Gar magazines are usually high quality, but I did read somewhere that there were functioning problems with the +2 versions. The followers are shortened in order to squeeze in the extra two rounds, and this makes the followers more likely to jam.
I was planning to buy some of the Mec Gar 15 round mags for my Browning Hi-Power, and changed my mind when I read about the functioning problems.
