Flipped through a magazine at the store and came across as ad for the "The Original CZ" and a new gun called the "TT Convertible". With a Logo done by the same cats that do the Blackhawk Industries/Extreme Shock ammo advertisements...

I thought CZ was "Ceska Zbrojovka" where they have been making guns for a very long time... and have the CZ-75 and 52 and 97... the CZ that we all know and love.
So who are these guys coming out like "The Real Ghostbusters" and throwing down with an EAA Plastic Witness and calling it new?

Website is www.czamerica.com and is utterly useless.

I seen the same ad in HANDGUNS. Thought that it would create a lot of
confusion.

CZ Ceska Zbrojovoka means CZech Firearms. Even the neat CZ G2000
is called a CZ. As Arms Moravia is a czech firearms factory.

The new TT gun will just be another clone to add to the club. Maybe
if they are really Tanfoglios, they will offer a polymer framed 10mm!!

they're made at the Strakonice arms factory, and AFAIK, are an original design.

CZ was originally the name of the Czech run Arms manufacturing back when they where still behind the iron curtain. BRNO also made guns designated as CZ. Go to the CZ forum www.CzForum.com and they can give you a better answer.

"Contact Adco Sales, Inc. , the western Hemisphere headquarters for CZ today".

Hrmph. I know some folks at CZ-USA in Kansas City who'd argue that.

That CZ America thingie looks like the illegitemate offspring of a Tanfoglio and a Hi-Point. Just because you call yourself a debutante don't make you one.
I look at that thing like I do ostrich farming for fun and profit. You can talk about it all day long, but until I see it under Saran wrap in Kroger's, I ain't throwing any money toward it.

Rabbit.

...LOL...I love it. ALOT of guns use the same monicer as the CZUSA/CZUB ....the one and only "Ceska Zbrojovoka" made guns.

The CZg2000 by AM, this lovely company claiming to be the one and only CZ......great marketing for my fav gun company without any added expense...he they should do more of it.

Im with CZF.....the 10mm poly gun would be a worthy CCW....but would be better if it was a real CZ but still not like the CZ100

CZ ...just means "Czech firearm"......so any gun made in Czech. can use the title............quite confusing isnt it????????????????? :neener:

Shoot well

Quick question off topic sorta, but how many rounds would a .45 caliber "pre-ban" CZ-97 magazine hold? (If there were such a thing).

TT Covertable is assembled in Czech Republic from italian Tanfoglio parts and localy made slide - under license from Tanfoglio. This gun was originally branded as "Alfa Proj", who is the real manufacturer based in Brno. But it seems that Alfa Proj bought the license for using the original CZ logo and its name from CZ Strakonice, who have totally different business than firearms, but t happens that they end up with rights for using the original logo and name after the originall CZ holding split up to seprate factories in 1990. Therefore the real CZ arms factory based in Uhersky Brod had to change name and logo to CZUB. CZUB is the only and original CZ 75, 82/83, 100/110 and 97 modells manufacturer.

Ceska Zbrojovka means "Czech Armory" and is registered name, therefore CZUB is using "Ceska Zbrojovka Uhersky Brod" when using full name. However, czech law does not allow to register rights to use just two letters as a name of company, or product, but is protecting graphical logotype in that cases instead. That is why Moravia Arms walked away with their ugly CZ 2000...

CZ 97 is using only 10 round magazines. 97 means the year when the model was accepted by CZUB for production, which means well after the hi-cap mags ban. As this particular model was ment mainly for export to US from the beginning, then it explains why CZUB does not designed the capacity for more than 10 rounds.
