My local shop has a new-in-box one and one in the rack. It looks interesting, feels good in the hand. Buuuutttt.....sure is bulky for only having 10 round mags, no? I mean, wouldn't you buy an AR and have high-caps and less bulk? Is there something I'm missing about the SL? Something that makes it worth it besides looking like a death ray super lightning bolt firing hand-o-Zeus kind of thing? :confused:

It can be converted at quite an expence to use AR mags. If I had the money to blow I might get one. But otherwise I will stick with the AR15 family.

No. Wait 1.5 years, buy a G36 that takes 30 round M16 mags from HK's USA plant. Problem solved.

You need to check out some of the SL8/G36s over at www.hkpro.com . The cost is discouraging, but they sure look sweet.

( The guy (LarryG36) in this photo with the modified SL8 is a Class 3 SOT, that is why he gets to use genuine LEO 30rd. G36 mags. ) ;)

Interesting. The 10 round thing is quite discouraging, though, and I'm not a big fan of tinkering to make something do something else (like take the AR mags.) Well, it was fun to think upon for a while!
