To those who didn't know, Colt is now making a stainless version of their Series 70 reproduction, complete with "retro" features such as narrow ejection port, no mag well bevel, and no firing pin safety. I finally picked up one today. Overall it's a very nice-looking piece, with nicely polished flats, snug fitting of parts, and crisp rollmarks. The first batch had flat steel mainspring housings, but the next batch will re-introduce the arched steel housing like it should have.

Overall these are excellent pieces, especially for use as a high-end custom gun project. It's good to see Colt come up with something original for a change, even if it's still retro in appearance (Colt never made stainless Series 70's before this, aside from the Gunsite Models). For a gun for shooting as-is the new 1991 models are better though, as they have the lowered ejection port, mag well bevel, and firing pin safety.
