Local shop has a Star Firestar M-43 9mm (Starvel finish)
90+ % condition (really nice)
only one magazine

I can't find anything to give me an idea of a reasonable price so help would be appreciated. Also is there a source for more magazines for this pistol?

I seem to be making a collection of guns carried by "Interarms" of Alexandria and this one looks really nice :D

Thanks
Ze

Try CDNN for mags. They carry a few Star varieties. As far as price 250. or less?

I paid 239 last year for one in the "starvel" finish... Very accurate, seemingly well made little pistol.. I picked up some extra mags from cdnn

Okay, that shop wanted $400 and wouldn't budge... so much for THAT!
(Whew NoVA has seriously inflated gun prices!)

"Blue Book of Gun Values", 28th ed., Fjestad, values a Model 43 Firestar, 90%, at $200.00 :(

 Way too high IMO. For a NIB or LNIB, maybe $275, $300 at most. They were in the mid $300s when they were new, IIRC.

I fondled, er, handled a couple shortly after they first came out and liked the size, heft (all steel), grip shape and knurled ambidextrous safety, but never got around to putting down the dough.

I had one...blued, not starvel.
Really nice gun, but I don't like magazine disconnects (which the Firestars have). Ended up selling it to put the money toward a Kanr MK9.

As others have posted, Star is out of business. I don't think it's good practice to purchase a gun from a defunct manufacturer, especially if they're a foreign manufacturer.

I have plenty of firearms. This would have been part of a collection series I seem to have started (firearms with the "Interarms of VA" stamp on them). But as noted above, the price was just WRONG!

400 is way out of line; They were less than 300 new.
There's something about them tho, tough little buggers, not half bad triggers. I don't think they're any heavier than a PPK tho; for 9 over .380 it puts a little different slant on it.
Cheers, TF
