Subject: .50 caliber rifles
Dear Sir!
I read that you voted to ban .50 caliber rifles in LA. I'm not an American citizen, but I believe in the Second Amendment. I hope that one day we Israelis will be able to own guns just like you Americans. There are several questions I would like to ask:
1)What's the point of banning the weapons? The excuse of the threat of terrorists using them isn't good enough. In my country, terrorists have never used such weapon. Did you, in your experience with LAPD, ever encounter such weapons being used in violent crime?
2)How does that ban work in a country which has the Second Amendment?
3)Why do you say "nobody needs such weapons"? What about the various sportsmen? What about the "50-caliber Shooters Association"? What about potential use for self-defense (I'm sure a few shot from a sniper half a mile away would stop a lynch mob in its tracks)
4)What are you planning to do with all the people who own these guns but have no criminal intent?
