I recently changed my shotgun platform to a Browning BPS 3" Invector Plus; I'm not planning on adding barrels for a while; I want to have it available to slug with incase I need to lend a rifle to my father for deer season; I was told that the Invector Plus barrels are 'overbored' or 'backbored'

based upon owning a Mossberg 835 which uses overbored barrels and the warning against using slugs in their overbored barrels...am I correct that rifled/forster style slugs SHOULD NOT be shot from Browning BPS Invector plus barrels?

am I able to use sabot slugs with a screw-in rifled choke tube?

thanks

From the owner's manual:

"All current 12 and 20 gauge and .410 bore BPS models have a 3" chamber (except the 3 1⁄2" 12-gauge model) and are designed to shoot and function with all factory loads: 3" Magnum, 2 3⁄4" Magnum, 2 3⁄4" High Velocity loads, 2 3⁄4" Field and 2 3⁄4" Target loads."

Also,

"The rifled choke tube is specially designed for shooting Foster or Sabot style slugs."

INVECTOR-PLUS™
All current BPS 12 and 20 gauge shotguns, except the Deer gun, have
back-bored barrels and are threaded to accept Invector-Plus™ choke
tubes only. The word INVECTOR-PLUS denotes that the barrel is
threaded. The degree of choke in the tube is indicated twice on each
choke tube: inscribed on the side of the tube, and indicated with a
“notch” code on the top rim of the tube. All Invector-Plus choke tubes
are made with tempered steel and are fully compatible with all
FACTORY AMMUNITION (loaded in compliance with SAAMI
specifications) including magnum lead and steel shot loads and rifled
slug loads.

Hi Everyone,
I have a choke tube that came off a Browning Invector BPS slug gun that isn't marked with the choke nor is it notched. The front of the tube is marked MD 1001 ----Lead Only. Any help with this would certainly be appreciated. Thanks in advance and God bless....cordell
