I've inherited the affor mentioned gold cup match. Purchased in 1980. I'm no gun pro. The condition of the weapon has been described as excellent. I know that it hasn't been fired in ten years, thus the reason for it's condition. I want to know what might be a fair price for this gun. Any help would be appreciated. I can provide pictures if needed.

Why sell it? Get yourself some ammo and go shoot it. You might find you like it and have a new hobby.

The Gold Cups would probably go for more money except for the fact that everyone these days wants "high speed/low drag" instead of 1911s used for deliberate target shooting.
I would guess that the earlier estimate of $600 - $700 is pretty close.
Yet, since you inherited it, honor the person who left it to you by experiencing what he/she did by getting a couple of boxes of ammo and taking it to the range.
