Does anyone have any experience taking off butt pads installed using Epoxy? If so, how did you do it and what were the results? I am guessing something like a tiny X-Acto saw might do the trick.

I have used the blade of of a box cutter .CAREFULLY get it started between the pad and the stock and work it thru ...Caution do not force to much pressure as to break the blade. Most pads are also screwed on so remove the screws first. Can use a hot gun to soften the epoxy again caution not to damage the stock finish
good luck

You are going to destroy that old pad anyway, if age hasn't already done that. So supporting the stock with a sand bag , and using a nice big flat faced drift punch, being careful to only hit the pad, Leave a fair amount of pad showing between the Punch and the stock, and of course after making sure the screws are out, strike the punch with just a little Angle away from stock. Make a pass down the pad of 10 to 20 strikes. You don't have to knock it off all at once just make alot of little shocks that done slowly and carefully have a chance of cracking the bound between the epoxy and the pad.
Whether it is one hit or ten or a hundred or more, this works 60 to 80% of time, for me, leaving a nice clean sepperation that needs little or no clean up.
If this doesn't work, you have your work cut out for you anyway, and at that point I just cut the pad apart until all that is left is the plastic spacer, and carefully turn the spacer to dust, until I have the nice clean square butstock to fit another pad to.

A friend of mine has a soldering iron with a chisel type exacto blade mounted on it. I'm not sure how he made it but its great for stuff like that.
