is it worth buying a scope with a mil-dot reticle?

Only if you're willing to learn how to shoot with it. Learn the conversion of mils to feet/inches, how to judge distance by mil heignt and conversions. also know Bullet ballistics so you can factor in BDC Bullet Drop compensation. Wind & elevation compensation and you're all set. It's easier than it sounds and can be very accurate in judgind distance, size & holdover.

I like my mil-dot a lot.

My reticle of choice . . . very useful, once you understand how they work and of course, practice a bit.

Yes, understanding and familiarization of the mil-dot sighting system is essential in its use.
I like them.

Mil Dot Master. Available from Dillon reloading. Once you get it everything else becomes extremely easy. Except calling winds, figuring the mirage, downward angle calculations and stuff like that.

But the Mil Dot Master is a must have piece of kit!
