I just got back from firing our new SW9VE at the range......what's the deal with that trigger pull??? It almost feels like there's a broken spring in it or something. Supposed to be double action but it had to be cocked before it'd fire the first round, and even then the trigger must be pulled back almost to the trigger guard and then given an extra hard squeeze before it'd fire. Is that normal for this model or did I get a "Friday at 4:55PM" pistol?

Is there a fix for this or am I stuck with it??

I'm afraid that all Sigmas are "Friday at 4.55pm pistols". I have not fired one, or even handled one but I believe they are striker fired, and as such probably need to be cocked by racking the slide for the first shot as with a Glock.

If you can identify any fault that will get you your money back I would do so and buy something else, hell, anything else.

Sigma's are notorious for having a trigger pull so bad that you practically need a crane to operate it!!!

The quality is also hit and miss. Even if the company has changed hands and the quality has improved, which I doubt, there are so many Sigmas that were made under the old regime out there, that you cannot be sure what you are getting!! It's not the most popular pistol in the world!! ;)

But take heart. In purchasing the Sigma, you have sent royalties to Glock and made Gaston richer!!! :p

The triggers on my two both break at 8#'s. You want a heavy DA trigger pull, try a CZ70!

Well, not knowing who Gaston is, I have comment on making him richer, hell someone has to make money on the stuff I buy I suppose.

As for the trigger pull, it would appear that my complaint stemmed primarily from my lack of education on this particular weapon, after speaking with my gunshop, reading some other interesting boards out here, and "playing" with it for a bit I realized that it's not a pull issue but rather the way the safety is designed into it.

On another note, since it was purchased for the wife as her primary carry / defense she's the one that has to be happy with it and she looked at me like I was on crack when I asked her if she thought it was too "heavy" a pull for her so........

Besides, I still say it feels better in my hand and shoots better than my 23 ever did. :D
