My brother wants a flashlight mounted to his HD Moss 500. He doesn't want to spend much, $50 or less. Are there any that will work for that money? He also wants a pressure pad to turn it on and off without having to take his hand off the forarm. Any chance of this happening at this price?

Cabelas has one for $42 or so IIRC. http://cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat602007-cat602310&id=0005772226472a&navCount=2&podId=0005772&parentId=cat602310&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IH&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat602310&hasJS=true
I have absolutely no idea how good it is. Its advertised to be around 15,000 candlepower.
Alternatively, there's this system: http://cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat602007-cat602310&id=0005772226473a&navCount=2&podId=0005772&parentId=cat602310&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IH&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat602310&hasJS=true
From the same manufacturer as the first, but uses a less powerful flashlight,....but it comes with the entire kit for $33, which includes the pressure switch for use on the forarm. The other one doesn't, though you can buy those seperately.

I ended up getting one of these:
http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=395834
and mounting it to my 870 tube extension with this:

Works great, nice and bright. Maybe a bit over your price range though.

Inexpensive shotgun lights?
There are many lights available for weapon mounts. Make sure you get one that is designed for heavy shock. LED lights work great. The biggest problem is the mount. Without going through the time, effort, and MONEY to install weaver/pickatinnyrails, take a look at this:

Blubacon50,
Cool idea! The only problem is that it only holds the mini mag light. That light is not powerful. I think what he needs to do is find a cheap mount and a decent light and mount them. I have found some pretty nice lights and they weren't Surefires. There are some cheaper lights that seem to be pretty decent. The Leapers and NCStar stuff always impresses me as good value for the money. I have not owned a light from them yet though. The scopes seemed pretty good considering the price.

I have one of the Tac Stars that attaches to the barrel. It will not stay attached while shooting buck and slugs, though it's OK for light birdshot.
No experience with the collet type.
Search around and see if you can find a replacement foregrip that has a rail.

I haven't seen any genuinely inexpensive weaponlights that were dependable so far, and I've been looking for a while. There may well be some flashlights that can be adapted to work, if someone wants to kludge up an arrangement to hold everything together. I would stick to LED lights for use on a shotgun, even those may well suffer damage over time from recoil. Batteries tend to batter each other and the inside of the light even if the LED/bulb holds up under recoil.
That said, CDNN had listed some lights that were inexpensive (but might turn out to be only cheap, I don't know) that I have not tried out- tis a toll free call to find out what's still available from them at 800-588-9500.
Part #AIM FL9LED, $14.99 (LED flashlight with curly cord pressure switch and mount)
#TAR96, $24.99 (LED flashlight with Picatinny/Weaver mount)
#99PR1, $29.99 (Seems to be an incandescent, incl. flashlight, one ring mount, curly cord/pressure switch and batteries)
#LTTL101, $29.99 (Seems to be incandescent flashlight, comes with integral mount, batteries and curly cord/pressure switch)
Or see www.targetsportsinc.com.
You don't need paint-peeling brightness in a weapon mounted light intended for short range use, contrary to to certain advertisements. You DO need enough light to see by and to distinguish friend from foe though. Touch off a bazillion-lumen light in a white or cream-painted room with your sleep- dialated pupils and you will blind yourself too (ask me how I know 8^).
Experimentation is a worthwhile endeavor, if you find something that works and stands up to a beating, please share the info...

Sportsmen Guide. Laser light combo for $29. Don't think it will last forever though....
