Well, you'd think it from reading the following news bit. This evil Mini-14 ".233" "machine gun" shot some woman in the leg! The BATF even had to be notified due to the "type of gun used."

I e-mailed the editor. One would think that a reporter from Montana would have a basic knowledge of firearms.

There is a full auto Mini-14...the AC556 or something? Did the news/cop make a goof in naming or was it really just a Mini-14?

I think it was a Mini-14. not the machine gun.
But then agian they went and said the father had a permit to own it.
Anyone know if you have to have a permit to have a rifle in MT?
I dont think you do but it could be like illinois.
