I just bought a Ruger Mark 3 and I installed the Weaver base for a Red Dot. After 20 round the the Weaver base comes loose. Will Loctite help keep the base on or will I ruin the finish on the gun? Blue or red loctite? Thanks.

Use it only on the screw threads and just a little. Use the blue which is removeable. If it does not hold then something is wrong.

+1 blue loktite. Even had a stripped screw that holds the bolt head onto the bolt in a French Berthier rifle - blue loktite holds that in just fine. Just be a little extra careful taking those screws out, use a good quality screwdriver or allen wrench.

I've had customers use insufficient torque, resulting in a shifting mount, then use Loctite to permanantly lock the screws in an under-torqued condition.
Locktite is very, very good stuff, but it won't make up for your inability to turn a wrench.
