I've found that forums like this are probably one of the best internet research tools out there, so I'm hoping I can find some good advice here.

I'm looking for a tactical light for my father's Smith & Wesson Model 39-2 9 MM (it's his birthday present).

It's an older pistol (he's had it at least since the early '90s) and has no rails. I'm partial to Streamlight (I have their M6 for a Glock 23), but they don't sell anything that'll attach without rails and they don't sell an adapter that'll work for a 39-2. Same for Surefire.

So I'd like to find a quality tactical light that doesn't need rails I'd love to get him one with a laser also, but he really only wanted the light. Price isn't a huge issue, but I'd like to max out around $300 if possible.

Any suggestions?

CDNN has S&W's that have rails, then you can add the light later....
