I have just started playing around with making knifes out of Deer antlers
and I am having a tuff time finding some with a big enough base to make a knife with say a 1 1/4 wide blade. Any ideas or sites that would help find some ??
Any place in Ohio to buy knife making suppies. I have done some searches without a whole lot of luck

Whitetail is usually too small for what you're looking for. Elk, and of course, Sambar produce antlers big enough to cut scales that size.

Lose those sissy Eastcoast whitetails and try elk or moose antlers.

"...Whitetail is usually too small..." You must have small deer where you are. However, antler is hard hair. They're also not solid all the way through. They're porous in the centre. Only the outside is solid. About 1/8" into it is hard though. Nothing a bit of epoxy won't fix. They get more solid in the centre closer to the head.
