Sounds like fun to me. I would like to play with one but it's hard to find a range longer than 100 yards here. That doesn't seem to be worthy of a 50.

the owner shows me a round and says,

" this is what you'll be shooting today."

his buddy chimes in, " there is 200 grains of powder in there."

yea, its not cheap to shoot...or buy to begin with

but still cool

Good grief! 200 grains! You might as well just stick a bullet in the mouth of a tin of IMR powder and shoot it!

I was able to wring out a LAR Grizzley pretty well a little while ago. Very fine rifle. Mild recoil for a .50. I even shot it freehand standing. :)

If you ever get one do yourself a favor and dont skimp on the rings or the scope.

I didnt have much cash leftover after I got my Ferret 50 so I got an ATN Scope w/rings to put atop it. The scope I have no complaints with, but the rings included with it were crap. Sheared off after the tenth round. I've since upgraded to some A.R.M.S. throw lever rings and I've had no problems since, and if I ever do they got a lifetime guarantee I can test the validity of.

After 30 rounds at a sitting I felt like I was a crash test dummy though. More weight would be nice.

its got a pretty good trigger so when it went off it did surprise me like its supposed too followed instantaneously by that sudden wave of "HOLY CRAP!!" that washes over you

the recoil was very mild considering, seems like most of it went into muzzle flip

i heard the round splat the target right after the BOOM!!

his setup was $3500 rifle and scope

brass,,,yea i just went through the cheap scope thing myself (on my mk II), let my ffl buddy get one for me and i thought he got me a good one, but,,,

i just bought a new one so i'm getting ready to set it up

maybe tonite!
