I purchase most of my lead from the same scrap yard I sell my old brass to.

I collect airgun pellet lead. Most airgun shooters collect their pellets in small home traps and then don't have any other use for them.

I have several friends that do plumbing work and they are almost always replacing old lead with PVC. I get about a bucket full every week or so. Good stuff too! Theres no antimony in it so it isn't too hard for BP.

get it from Wal-Marts TLE (tire lube Express). helps i work there i guess, but we give the stuff away (not sure if we are really sposed to) by the 5 gallon bucket to a couple of guys that come in every couple of months. if it doesnt get picked up, walmart ends up paying the battery guy anyway, so i guess it is a pretty fair deal.

Would fishing sinkers work? Here on the Pacific coast where I live the sinkers available can be quite large, and are not expensive. Not sure if they are pure lead or not..
