Picture didn't turn out very well but it looks like an RG or other cheaply built import. I don't think it was made for the .32 auto cartridge as they are not a full rimed cartridge. More than likely a .32 S&W or .32 S&W long cartridge. If concerned about it's ability to shoot you may want to have a gunsmith check it over before firing. The .32 S&W cartridge is not a high pressure load, but it is always better to be safe.

Don't shoot it until a gunsmith looks at it. I can't tell exactly what it is either , but I concur with mnrivrat that it's likely an RG or similar low build quality revolver. Be careful with it.

Yes, the two are entirely different cartridges. Google ".32 S&W" for more info.

It's a Clerke, made by Clerke in California in the 1970s.
Brought out after GCA 1968 to fill the market niche for a really, really, cheap gun after RGs could no longer be imported to be sold for $30-$40.
I would consider it a paperweight, your girlfriend's uncle must not like you.

Jim's right. I haven't seen a Clerke in awhile.
They retailed for as low as $15.00 NEW during the 1970s. The few I've seen are so poorly made as to be dangerous. I do not suggest shooting it.

DON'T!
You're likely to loose a finger or two.

Numrich has parts for these inexpensive guns made of inexpensive materials. I have no desire to own one. Still, not everyone can afford a the money for an emergency tool that many of us would spend on a hobby.
The best use I have found for these is to feed the Clinton era gun "buy-backs". In San Antonio, TX, a friend and I were able to sell a grocery bag of these for $50.00 each.
