"Plastic" Holsters

I have a Walther PPK/S, stainless steel, that I want a very light holster for. I have a Fobus Paddle for my G33 and I do notice some slight marks on the Glock after pulling it from the holster. I call them marks because they really aren't scratches. Knowing from first hand experience that stainless guns scratch easily, my question is for anyone who has a polished stainless pistol who have tried holsters like Fobus and Kydex holsters like Fist, do they scratch a polished stainless slide?
Thanks, John

The good ones, Blade Tech for example, do not in my experience.

Keep it clean (the plastic probably won't scratch, but built-up grit may) and you'll be in good shape.
Then again, if you're all that concerned about getting a gun slightly scratched, are you sure you want to carry it?

Good Point CORDEX.

Blade-Tech holster absolutely ate up my satin finish model 65. Looking at the marks I'd suspect it would do the same to even the slightly more durable polished finish stainless steel guns (would be easier to fix though).

If you're worried about finish wear, go w/ leather ;) or at worse, a lined kydex ;)

Kydex itself won't scratch the gun (plastic won't scratch steel; that's why they don't make hacksaw blades out of the stuff... ;) ), but it will hold small grit particles firmly in contact with your gun and they will scratch it. Keep your kydex kleen! :D

... and you can do that by using a little Kleenex®! :D
Sorry, but I just couldn't pass up on that one. :uhoh:

Comp-Tac is my choice. Even though its not stainless, I carry a G19 in it all the time and have not noticed any wear on the finish of the weapon since I been carrying it. Been almost 2 years now in the Comp-Tac

I got a Fobus paddle at the gun show before last. I was so impressed with it when I fell down the stairs (again!), and looked down and the P32 was STILL in it, that I just bought a Fobus paddle for my new 638. No scratches on the pistol yet, but now I'll remember to keep it clean!

I shoot in a sand pit. I did find that my kydex holsters pick up grit very quickly. The solution (IMHO) is to clean the holster with Windex fairly often.

I've had little luck in finding an appropriate IPSC quick draw holster for my USP. So I have been using a Fobus Roto-Paddle HK-1, with excellent results.
The longer I use it, the less I feel the necessity of investing in other holstering equipment. No scratches at all, only slight wear on the front of the slide, and that 'polishing' of the front trigger guard where it slides into the holster's trigger cavity.
Truly an excellent product! :D
