Thanks for catching the typo.

I like it a lot. I would put the dates as '92 and '05 instead of 92 and 05. I thought I was looking at some type of scoreboard at first.

I agree with the date thing. And I think that if you could add another instance in which emergency services were all but gone, that would solidify the pattern.

+1 on the date...'05 or 2005...took me a few seconds to figure out what those were referring to.

The box inset up at the left with the cities and riot dates drew my attention away and diminished the impact; at first glance it looked like a final score in a sporting event or a tally of the two cities respective 911 failures. 4-digit dates might help. Also, the reference to L.A. and the riots in '92 might be lost on some younger people.

Oleg,

How about, "When 911 won't answer your call for protection, your rifle will", or "Unlike 911, Your rifle will never leave you on hold..."

That takes on more of an active voice.

Thanks,

Very nice. Regarding your questions, I like "When 911 won't answer"
Maybe even, "When 911 Won't or Can't answer..."
Also the score box thingy left be clueless until I read replies here. Not sure it's necessary in that format.

Great job!

+1 on adding more to the dates for clarificaiton. Had no idea what they meant until I saw someone post it.

Oh and if the young people (I'm one of them) don't know what the LA Riots were, they probably won't even know why Katrina is mentioned (because all they know about it is... how "President Bush let all the black people go homeless." :barf: )

Cool poster and beautiful woman. Never underestimate the importance of the way you try to bring a message across and she certainly doesn't look like Rambo.

I didn' see the earlier versions, but the one that's up there now is fine.

I'm liking that.

the desert tan furniture on the AR makes it look like a toy in greyscale. Otherwise, excellent work.

I think you should have kept the dates in there, and as the third entry, have: "Your home town: (pending)"

Good work Oleg.

Oddly enough, I tried to call 911 a couple of days ago, and got a "Your call cannot be completed at this time message," so the title really caught my eye.

Oh. I like it better without the riot dates. It doesn't have to be a riot to not get an answer.

I also think "should" would sound better if it was "will"

Also I think you should make one that says something to the effect of ....

9 1 1 is for reporting you have just stopped an intruder
not for help in stopping them

something like that, Im not as good with words as you are Im sure you could change that up and make it sound better ;)

Actually, "When 911 won't answer" by itself would just be enough

Or maybe "When 9-1-1 Doesn't Answer"
(so as not to imply a refusal to answer)

With Oleg's permission, and attribution, it would not be hard at all to photoshop it with whatever caption you want, as the caption is nicely limited to a common background that can be easily painted over.

Your rifle will help you survive until 911 answers.

While waiting for help from 911 your rifle will keep you alive until help arrives.

baz,

Give it a try, if you like. (Photo by, caption by) attribution would be nice.

Maybe one with the lady holding a Government Model:

When 911 ....etc... Call 1911.

(realizes that only firearm enthusiasts will get it)

I think she should look more distressed, like she's really worried about harm coming to her. To me, she looks like she's mildly annoyed, and the rifle is held almost carelessly. That might be only me, but that's how I see it.

The only thing I would do with the wording would be to change the words 'your rifle' to 'you'.

When 911 can't help, your .357 can.

how about

"We don't call 911 here"

Thank you for calling 9-1-1. Your call is very important to us. There are three callers ahead of you.

Please hold...

If 911 answers. In the places where the people need 911 the most, they are the least likely to respond.
