does anyone make a halfway decent quick access CARBINE/SHOTGUN locker/safe with a MECHANICAL (not electric) push-button access?

you know, it's 3 a.m., you hear your front door crashing in ...

thanks.

No. If you need to be able to access something quickly, you shouldn't keep it in a safe. Safes are to prevent bad guys and children from accessing your guns, and therefor you don't really want something that can be accessed quickly.

In the wall between studs covered with a heavy paper. Painted and textured you can place it in any or every wall of your home.
You might set it where you can store and maintain it from within a closet periodically. A breaker box cover sold with a locking door may be a good fit for something hidden like this.

V-Line makes two models for long guns. Both use the Simplex mechanical push button system.

any S&G mechanical lock can be set to a single number combination. That is the dial is turned to that number then back to zero and opened.

Here's another alternative:

http://www.mossberg.com/scripts/prod...p?idproduct=97Has anyone tried this product? I believe Mossberg made something similar that held the shotgun only if the chamber was empty. I would love to store my shotgun this way, but only if I could have a shell chambered.

Does that last device pictured have an electronic lock? The button pad looks mechanical, but that electric cable must be there for some reason.
It looks like there's a key lock also, but isn't that the kind they can now defeat with a Bic pen?
I'm not sure how secure that thing would be...

I think that one I posted is more for keeping the little ones from messing with it but having it easy to get to for you when you need it. Not from keeping people that are robbing your house from taking it, thats what a bolted to the floor , floor safe is for. Even then it doesnt stop someone with the know how and the time to work on it.
