Ran a quick search of THR, but didn't find this. Appolgies if missed it.

I posted this on another forum some time back, but thought it might be handy for folks here too. The US patent office has all patents and drawings on-line.
uspto.gov

If you know the patent number you can pull it up directly. As an example, ran a search for "pistol" and came up with http://patimg2.uspto.gov/.piw?docid=US007243453&SectionNum=2&IDKey=B99FEA9EE536&HomeUrl=http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2%2526Sect2=HITOFF%2526p=1%2526u=%25252Fnetahtml%25252FPTO%25252Fsearch-bool.html%2526r=10%2526f=G%2526l=50%2526co1=AND%2526d=PTXT%2526s1=pistol%2526OS=pistol%2526RS=pistol. Could have a lot of uses for a 'smith. Hope it helps a few.
