*sigh* I'd love to get a few hundred pounds of 9mm and 7.62x51, but not if I have to haul away about 24,000 lbs. of scrap... though the recycling value alone is probably around $30k.

do you think that the gov ran all that brass through some sort of heat treatment to pop the primers?
I've heard that makes the brass useless, not sure though.

They run some lots of brass through the poppers, but not all. If they heated the lot, it's stated in the description.

anyone know where I can get a quanity of lead for fairly cheap outside of these guys?
100 lbs would be more than enough for me for right now. That's about $250 through midwayUSA. And please, don't say wheel weights...I've called everyone in town and they're 'already spoken for' by other fellas making sinkers and bullets.

I am sure glad that:
MUTILATION NOT REQUIRED AS A CONDITION OF SALE.
I wasn't planning on hacking off some body parts just to get some scrap lead. :neener:
