How long should it take to lighten a trigger and fix a loose sight?

I've had two guns with a gunsmith local to town here for just over 8 weeks now - a S&W model 659 that had a loose rear sight that i needed tightened up/re-sighted in... and an S&W model 642 that i wanted the trigger lightened on some - to somewhere around 6-8lb's. Could any of you guys tell me if 8-10 weeks is a reasonable turn around time for this type of work? I'm not a gunsmith, but i assumed it would be relatively quick and easy to do these two things. I'm trying to decide if i should just go pick my guns up and try and find somewhere to ship them to...but that'd be rather pointless if this is a normal wait time.

Thanks for the feedback folks,

Well, the work you describe is easily enuff accomplished; I have done such on my own guns. However, it really more depends on how busy your local 'smith is and, therefore, how much of a backlog he has. Give him a break--you don't want a half-baked trigger job.

If someone walks in to my local gunsmith and is a smart-a** and tries to tell the 'smith his business, the work just naturally takes longer, too.
