Informal Poll...Thompson/Gingrich?

Lately on Fox News, Newt has been getting quite a bit of "face time" where he has been really blasting the the the GOP prez candidates, congress, and the administration in general with the obvious exception of Fred Thompson, for whom he has nothing but praise. There have been rumors that Newt may indeed throw his hat in the ring, yet with all the accolades he's bestowed on Thompson, he's beginning to sound/act (IMO) more like a potential VP running mate.
I just thought I'd throw this out there FWIW and see whether anyone else suspects this scenario is a real possibility, and if so do you feel this combo would help or hurt Fred Thompson.
Again this is just a gut feeling on my part. What say you?
TIA
Ron

Thompson has generated alot of interest and your scenario could very well come to fruition. It'd be hard to vote against that card as well as see any downside for Thompson IMHO.....

Fred has his own baggage that will have to be dealt with. He is the darling of the Trial Lawyers Assosciation, and has opposed tort reform. His voting record is very similar to John McCain's. He seems to favor amnesty for illegals.
I don't think he is the conservative people want him to be.

Newt could be sucking up for a portential cabinet position as well. Newt obviously thinks Fred Thompson is the likely favorite.
I'd rather see Duncan Hunter as Fred Thompson's running mate though.

Newt's done. He was done when he resigned in 1998.
BTW Pelosi's likely headed for the same fate, if the Democrats keep control of the House. Her career will last longer if the Republicans regain the majority. It's a lot easier to stay on as a shrill member of the opposition, than as an unpopular leader of the majority. A lot of Democrats won't want to go down with her.

Given a choice, I'd rather see Ron Paul as Thompson's running mate, if it comes to that. Thompson is fairly Libertarian.

Thompson or Gingrich?
Gingrich hands down. Way more qualified, way more educated, way more experience. But he can't win.
Which leaves Thompson I guess.

Thompson is fairly Libertarian.
Huh? He isn't even close to being a libertarian. Thompson is a big government, NAU, CFR loving neo-con. Newt isn't much better so they'd make a perfect couple.

This is why we don't allow general political discussion.
No one can mention Fred or Ron without bringing up the other.
And then it's an all out Internet BickerFest Flog The Dead Horse To Chum Death Match.
Nope.
OT.
