Knife notch that breaks wire??

i have a very nice Becker Necker that i carry with me hunting, fishing, and camping. one of the features it lists is a wire breaker, that little notch in the handle. thing is, i cannot figure out how this feature works. anybody help please? - Eric

hold one end of wire

bend knife back and forth like using pliers to work harden a wire to brittle failure

ok, thats cool, i'll try it out soon. i was hoping that it would be able to break a line of barbed wire while still strung up on a fence -line. thanks again ! - Eric

They work, but they aren't anywhere near so convenient or quick as a pair of cutters. In a world where my own personal *** was on the line and wire was a factor, I'd leave the 1911 home and take the cutters rather than diddle with the wire breaker notch. YMMV.
