It's got a 4" slightly curved, non-serrated blade that is maked D2 and "First Production 0444/1000" with a Butterfly logo on the other side. The sheath appears to be micarta and it has a pocket clip. I was told that opening the blade is assisted with a spring.

I slobbered over the top quality $450+ knives but I just don't have the scratch. This knife nevertheless, I quite like. What can you tell me about what I bought?

Benchmade is a quality knife...you got a keeper. I have a few of them in my collection as well. I have a lot of Masters of Defense steel and am a big fan and have some RKK as well. But you made a good choice regarding coinage..$$$.

If you ever get some extra $$ get you a CQD Mark 1 MOD.... IMO this is one of the toughest knives on the planet, and I manufactured knives for 4 years.

Your Benchmade will serve you well...

If you look really close at the butterfly---there should be a teeny tiny model number printed under it---once you have the model number---people could be more help.

:D913 is the model number. You madde a good choice with Benchmade. I think that when you look at price vs quality, they are the best knives out there. I have a Benchmade CQC7 that has served me well every day for over 10 years. Yes sir, they be good stuff.:D
