My daughters experienced some severe firepower today!

Howdy folks. My daughters got to see some awesome weapons today. They're a little to young to use the stuff, but they at least got to take a look. My wife and her Marine Spouses playgroup went to the Camp Pendleton Mechanized Museum with a camera; and since the "recoiless rifle" has the word rifle in it and because "anti-tank gun" has the word gun in it, it's gun related. Oh, and if you didn't notice, the older one is the Gunny and the younger one is the Private

C'Mon Private, get in the jeep, we have to move this into position!

Man the Cannons!

Well, Private, the gun looks nice. I guess I'll give you a 72 since this gun looks so nice and...wait...what's that right there?

You know, not that I personally have any problem with this, it did occur to me that those pics could give an anti some ammunition.

I don't know if I will ever be in CA, but you never know about your life; anyway, I would like to visit there.
I have never heard a more powerful blast from a weapon than the 106 mm recoiless rifle! And I have been too close to a 500 lb. bomb detonation.

Your little one is beautiful and I'm sure a blessing to you and your wife.

Should you be in NC, try the 82nd Airborne museum at Ft. Bragg. Also interesting.

*Ziadel the following is not directed at you

An anti would make some negative comment. However, doing so would equate soliders and the military with evil. They're not all nice guys, but the majority of men and women who serve (and have served) this country are pure, true Americans defending those who may not be able to defend themselves.

On the same token, should we prohibit kids from visiting Holocaust museums because it will turn them into Nazis?

While its wise to never underestimate the stupidity of people out there, I don't think these photos would be very usable ammunition. Except for the anti-military kooks (who listens to them?) After all, its a military museum. Do people ever get upset at kids walking around a bomber at an air show or sitting in the seat of AA gun on a museum ship?

I don't think so, springmom. I've been in for over 3 years now and I know what the first thing that comes to a male Marine's mind when he sees a pretty female Marine...Then again, if she's anything like her dad, she'll do the exact opposite of what the parents say until she's about 19 or 20.
