Were you trying to use a hotmail or similar account? I believe that the S&W Forum won't allow them because they do not want their members to hide behind "anonymous" accounts.

Who do you use to access the internet, Cox, AOL, Earthlink? Those are what you use for your email.

I have AOL. I couldn't get on because of it.
I had to sign up from a different account at work.

I have an AOL account and had no problems.

I had a problem signing up on the Ruger Forum. I could not get my password. I had to turn the spam filter as low as it would go and request a lost password and it finally got through.

what would you do if you just had a broadband service and no aol? The majority of the people I know use hotmail and yahoo.
