What are your opions of the Uncle Mike's Sidekick Holsters? I used to carry a 22 Rossie in one for snake protection while hunting and it served it's pupose, but I just bought a 45 Auto and I am wondering if a Sidekick is the best choice. I will be carrying while hunting 90% of the time, so nothing special is needed. My main concerns are will the holster put excessive wear on the finish or will the holster be catch the sights when I draw? Any opinion will be a great help. Thanks.

I own several of them. They do their job and do it pretty well. Sure if you spend more money, you'll get better quality, but for what they cost the Uncle Mikes stuff isn't bad.

I've never had any trouble at all with finish wear.

Are they the "best choice?" No, but they'll work.

I like Gunmates holsters better. Uncle Mikes ride too high on me. Gun mates are cheaper, too.
