techbargains.com and antirebate.com are two of the most annoying sites I know -- they're always temping me with fantastic deals on things electronic, drawn not from the stock of any single store, but from all kinds of different online retailers. Monitors, MP3 players, computers, etc; I esp. like antirebate.com, because it tries to focus only on "real price" sales rather than the kind of sales where you must pay full price, then trust them to actually send a rebate check.

Is there anything close, dealing just with guns and related items? I've sometimes bumped into great deals here on THR, but it's a crap shoot, whereas I can scan the items listed at antirebate quickly and say "Hey, that's just what I was looking for!"

Any ideas?

Just a guess, but electronics are a lot more 'perishable' commodities than guns. The longer an electronic item sits on a shelf, the less likely that it will sell for any value- rebates and incentives are much moreavailable for them.

You're certainly right about that -- dern gun stuff tends to remain worth what it's worth too often. On the other hand, I've been directed from here on THR to some amazing deals (promo sales, or the occasional shop with far better than average prices on a particular gun, or the recent flood of refurbed SIG police models ...), and it seems to me there must be many similar that I've just missed.

Too bad guns aren't doubling in relevant specs every few years, eh? :) OTOH, I'm glad that the first guns I've bought are not the equivalent of the first computers I bought wrt to current value / fun / likely future worth!

SG Merc: Hey, thanks! That's a cool site, and answers at least 86.3% of what I was hoping for ;) I like how ammo's broken down into cost per round there, and am feeling glad that I paid only slightly more for my Saiga .223 than the one of the current front page of the site you point out.
