Being a two-week lurker in this forum, I decided I should register and introduce myself. I'm a nearly-30 gun owner in central Indiana. I grew up around firearms of all types, and was instilled by my father with a healthy respect for them. Oddly enough (if you listen to the Clinton News Network), I never shot my parents, my neighbors, or myself, despite knowing where all the guns were, as well as the key to the gun cabinet, AND where my Dad's unsecured .38 snubbie was (gun locks? What are those? :p).

I have a CCW (Indiana's so good for getting one of those), and occassionally carry my 1911 (actually a Colt M1991A1). I also own a Colt King Cobra 6" in Stainless, a Yugo SKS with Fiberforce Dragonov-lookin' stock, a Turkish M98 Mauser in 8mm, a Remington Sportsman 78 .30-06 (scoped), and I believe I may be the owner of a lever-action single shot .22 that's being kept at my Dad's house. Dad has an FFL, and between us, we have nearly 30 firearms.

Besides having a passion for firearms (and other weapons; I own several swords and even a battle-ready mace), I am a movie-guru/aficianado, like non-competitive outdoor activities (camping, hiking, horseback riding), role-playing games, computer games, target shooting, plinking, skeet shooting, and I am the current (and first) Secretary of the German-American Jaeger Club. The Jaeger Club was created when the local Antelope Club's members dwindled due to natural death of the members to the point of being impractical, so they created a new club within the German-American Klub of Indianapolis. Our objective is to promote the German-American traditions of wild game hunting and the shooting sports.

I've rambled on long enough. Nice to know ya!

Next step is to stark making your own! Much more fun, I reproduced a 6' Irish pattern claedhemore based on a 15th century woodcut.. the real deal probably wasn't 6', but I proportioned it to my size compared to the person in the woodcut... may still not be right, as this same woodcut had 4 people and 9 legs ;-)

Greetings!:) Welcome to the board. Theres a wealth of knowledge here amoung the members. While I'm mainly interested in single actions, I do stray into other areas. I can attest to the convienience of having a family member w/ a FFl. I also enjoy, camping and hiking as well as mt biking. However my toddler son keeps my free time for himself. (not a bad thing) Haven't had a horse in about 5 yrs.
Your German-American Jaeger Clubsounds interesting. Good luck with it.:)

The Jaeger Club has only been around since December of '02, so we haven't gone hunting yet, but we're planning to try for a fall '04 Antelope/Mule Deer hunt out in Wyoming. I'd like to go for some wild boar, myself. But, the club is still young, and my rifle isn't zeroed in....yet. :)
