Don't know dealer cost but I see the best retail prices on 4" run between $500 and $510 all the time. Still pretty stiff.

Dealer cost for the 4" 686 Plus is $425.50 + shipping.

About two years ago, I bought a new 686 Plus with a 5" barrel for $399.

A new 686 Plus is about $450 at a gun show in Houston. The 686 is $15 to $20 cheaper.

Dealer cost will vary depending upon which distributor you check. Most I've delt with run $420.00 or so on the 686+

Starting price in my state is $452 -- not sure the exact price for a 4". I got mine used the day before yesterday (I think...) for $419 total. Gun looks like new and I'm very happy with it. I'd buy used again for a good gun...:)

4", about $480 retail.
6", about $520.
