I cant find any stevens scope mounts, would anything that fits on the savage 110 fit on the Stevens 200?

Heres what I am mounting, 3x9 nikon prostaff on a stevens 200.

Which mount/base would be ideal?

That appears to be the case.

Here's one example.

I've used "standard" style rings and they seem rock solid

Before you make the same mistake I did...

Make sure you get the older generation Savage scope mount...the new generation has a flat rear base...the old models were round...which is what the Stevens needs...

I wound up getting a Leupold two piece with dovetail offset rings for smaller scopes. Worked out nice and its a solid mount. I would have prefered a one piece and might still get one in the future...

db, I think you got that backwards. The new Savage (AccuTrigger)/Stevens 200 is round and the older model Savage is flat. Have a nuther cup of coffee, it clears the cobwebs from the brain. ;)

So which is it? I decided that I will get a leupold one piece base and medium rings, I am still waiting to hear back from Savage which base model I need. Is that going to be an ok set up for a nikon prostaff 3x9?

yeah...something...I know my Stevens is round...and the Savage base I got was flat on the rear mount...so watch out. :o

oh...and the 3-9 pro-staff is a VERY nice scope for the money. I have a 2-7 on a 416 Taylor that has held up nicely. :)

Db ,

Your just up the street from me, I am in spring/woodlands area. What can you tell me about deer leases in this area?

Where do you shoot? Carters or that place off the conroe loop?

I found the round Savage/ Stevens bases at Walmart for 8.00. Then I put some Millett 1" high rings on it. If you have a long action, you will have to make sure the body of the scope has enough length to fit. The short action has better fit for a scope.

Savage rings fit Stevens, and the new ones are both round. Make sure you get either an extended base, or an extended ring to allow scope adjustment. And I always use Burris Signature Zee rings with the plastic inserts. Doesn't hurt the scope, and if you have to, you can buy offset inserts to move the scope up or down or left or right. Savageshooters.com has a review on a one piece base with integral rings that looks good.
