Buddy of mine stopped by last weekend - I showed him my weapons
I put them away and we talked about weapons. He said he was in a bar after a range session in the SFO area after a range session recently There
wasn't an empty table but one table had an atrractive 30 something woman sitting at it. So, after a round or two they started debating handguns for
personal defense, not all the time, some other topics were tossed around.
THe woman never commented about handguns but did comment about other politcal and other soiol topics. Finally, she decided her connection was a no show. He said they were all watching her as she walked out, ok he said unabashedly she fit her pants real nice.

SHe turned and simply said "We use the HK USP .45" and strolled off into the night....

FBI? or DEA?

who knows but she knew her weapons

.

She sounds dangerous enough without her HK, Glock, SIG, or whatever.

Define "pros." :scrutiny:

And just because X law enforcement agency issues Y brand of handgun does not make either the be-all and end-all.

Whats a pro?i'm sure everyone has seen the video of the DEA agent who shot himself in the foot in front of a classroom of kids, after telling them that he was a professional and fully trained in the handling of a glock.

If that is in Washington state I believe the Washington State Police use USP .45 or USPc .45.

I would argue the best weapon is what you feel is best for yourself. Everybody has different preferences.

The best weapon is the one you have with you when you need it:)

Real professionals, be it law enforcement or private citizens, don't brag like that. I've met the whole spectrum, be it secret service, DEA, or DHS, the true professionals don't brag about what they carry, how they carry it, or talk shop with strangers. HK USP, My guess she saw Collateral with Tom Cruise too many times. or Keither Sutherland on 24.

I used to work in a convenient store, and I would frequently talk shop with the night shift cops that came in. We would talk guns, law, and any other thing that comes to mind at 3 in the morning. I've seen cops bust on other cops for their choice of caliber, and I even got one of the more regular fellows to bring his Colt Trooper from home so I could see it. Cops, federal agents, and others will talk about their jobs just like anybody else.

Doesn't matters what anyone else carries - only what you carry. Software/hardware

SFO = San Francisco Intl. Airport? The 2 nearest ranges would be Jackson Arms and Coyote Point, which is run by the Sherrifs Dept.

The person your buddy met might have been a local Tac. officer, they have much more leeway in choice of carry from typical issue .40S&W & 9mms; and .45ACP are very popular. Most go for some flavor of M1911 though.

Remember only about 10% of cops are gun nuts, the rest are like all the rest of the sheep who get their information from TV & the Movies.

Ehh cops tend to carry whatever companies will give them but i am sure if given a chioce its probably .40 S&W Berretas. My police department is switching to sigs instead because they decided to sponser all of our local cops so they can do a "when it comes to law enforcement X department relies on only the best Sigs." kind of add. Cant expect the state to turn down free firearms you know?

Are you sure she wasn’t blowing smoke?

I dated one like that for a very short while. She would sit and listen to other peoples conversations, get up make a statement and walk out. She was a professional BS artist.

There's so many choices of quality handguns, that are accurate and reliable. Something for everybody. There's no need to ape any particular agency's choice.
