Extractor on 1911`s

How do you tune extractors on 1911`s? I have a Kimber Stainless TLE II in
.45 ACP, and the brass gets a pretty heavy ding in the middle of the case. See this thread.

To start with, is this a Kimber with an external or internal extractor? :confused:
