Assisted action folders

A very good day to one and all,
I most recently got hold of a SOG FSA-8 Flash II assisted opening folder. Does anyone here own one or a similar assisted opening folder? Any comments on the quality of this SOG folding knife and it's value as a self preservation tool?
Given the choice of either an Emerson Endeavor or a SOG Flash II, which one would you choose?

I would go with the emerson commander or mini commander. The wave feature on the knife makes opening it REALLY fast.

If I was looking for one fast folder for SD it would be the Commander. Mine is not a task knife, just for SD. Check out the Usualsuspect.net for all you could want to know.

I have the small SOG (Flash I) and find it a bit fragile. And it opened up in my pocket once all by itself and cut me.
I prefer the Kershaw designs for an inexpensive mechanical assisted folder.
The SOG is cool, and opens in a "flash", but I think, for serious work, there are better knives.
