I am looking to stock up on 8mm. I have only shot romanian from my k98 thus far and it groups great (BUT OOOHHHH so dirty!!)! what are some opinions of 1950's yugo vs the 1970 romanian? ohhh they are within $.01/round of each other!

Some of the Yugo has hard primers. Can't remember, but I believe it's the 50's stuff. A stiffer striker spring should fix that problem though.

Well unless ya got a source right now your gonna find the options very limited.... I bought the last two pallets of 50s Yugo Century had almost a year ago now and have shot a few thousand rounds of it through everything from MG34s to my mausers and never have had a single hickup , it does shoot a lil more accuratly outa my K-Kale mausers and the Czech 98/22s though than the Romanian stuff

Hard primers are usually an issue with the Hakim more than a K-98. I heard of an issue with Romanian in a FN-49. Check Surplus rifle forums, as they had listed specific lot numbers for problem ammunition. It's kind of hard since both sources are starting to dry up. Romanian would not so a problem in most K-98's since the chamber is vented.
