Is anyone else having trouble finding CZ rifles in .22 cal? My dealer ordered a Training rifle for me 4 weeks ago. First CZ USA said the wait would be 3 weeks, then 8 weeks, now they say maybe next year. Are these rifles that popular? BTW, a gunsmith slugged the barrel on a CZ .22 LR and the slug measured .215 inch. He says that's the same size bore as a Sako Match .22. Is this why these rifles are so accurate? Thanks.

The word must be getting around. I would expect prices to start going up, as well. You can still get them at Gunbroker, I believe.

I expect that the 452s are made in production runs of different models. One run of Americans, one run of Luxes, one run of Varmints, etc. If they're sold out of the model you want, you have to wait until the next production run is made and imported.

At least, that's how Miroku/Brownings are made. I wanted a takedown Browning .22 and had to wait for a run of them to be made (nearly a year) since my dealer couldn't locate any of them.

I don't know if the tight bore improves accuracy, though an oversize bore would certainly hurt accuracy. One problem it does cause is that some cleaning rods will rub against the bore...

Best,
Joe

Hi, got a CZ-452 Special sitting in the gun safe now that has about 200 rounds thru her. Excellent shooter ,but I did free-float the barrel and changed out the trigger spring . If you don't want to wait drop me a e-mail . I have all the original box ,manual, parts from puchasing the rifle new .The wood stock on this special has better apperance than the stock on My american . Never used a wire brush on the barrel ,just a .17 rod and patches with bore guide. Can't send the bore guide with it as I will need it for the American. I would like to trade it for a SKS or a Ak-47 in 7.62X39 for a little cheap plinking ! Or would sell it out right for $215.00 + actual shipping to your FFL . Thanks WVleo

Thanks for the offer WVLeo. However, last night a T/C Black Diamond .50 cal Extended Range stainless followed me home from the gun shop. Now I have to start saving my pennies all over again. Has this ever happened to anyone else? :scrutiny:
