Hornady New dimension dies super tight?

I got to try out one of my sets of Hornady New Dimension dies this weekend and one thing I noticed is that compared to my Lee dies they require a significantly harder pull on the handle and seem MUCH tighter than the Lee dies. Are they made with smaller dimensions or is it a die coating thing? I am using the same lube and techniques so it shouldn't be that.

I've actually wondered the same thing with my .40 S&W die. It seems comparable to my Lee undersize die I use. Sometimes when I use it with Glock brass it leaves a more pronounced ring at the bottom.

On the other hand the .45 ACP I now have seems like my RCBS.

What die are you using?
