What Method of Concealed Carry?

What is your preferred method of concealed carry?

Inside Waistband?
Outside Waistband?
Shoulder Holster?
Pocket Carry?
Open Carry?

A previous thread got me to wondering what methods all you other law abiding citizens use when you are packing.

Please share what method you use most often and why. Also, it would be interesting to know what type of gun (large, small, semi, revolver) you carry in that position.

Always a large semi auto inside the waistband carry. For me it's more comfortable and easier to conceal my gun than OWB.

G19 Iwb

S&W 637 or full size 1911 OWB.Most comfortable, easily accessable, and deep concealment (or any at all) isnt nessecarry for me.

S&W 442/642 Pocket Carry. DeSaints Nemesis

XD-45 in a Burgundy RafterS IWB. Sweet.

August 8, 2007, 12:53 AM
All the time (where legal) – A J frame in a front pocket holster.
When I can – A 1911 or a 4”K/N frame IWB at about 4 o’clock.
I voted for pocket carry, since I have one there even when I carry IWB.

Full-size M&P40 IWB. I really need to get a nice holster, and a smaller gun!!

August 8, 2007, 04:45 AM
Glock 23 in a OWB crossdraw. I wear a fleece vest to cover it all up.

August 8, 2007, 10:00 AM
Well, preferred would be OWB, open carry. Since that isn't legal in Texas, it's IWB, concealed.

August 8, 2007, 10:46 AM
I pocket carry my PM9 pretty much daily. I carry my XD40 IWB almost as often, but pocket carry wins out by a small margin.

1911 iwb

August 8, 2007, 04:27 PM
Mostly IWB, with a full size gun (90% of the time).

If I'm carying the compact, OWB is more comfortable. The muzzle end of the holster tends to dig into my hip if I carry the compact IWB.

August 8, 2007, 04:41 PM
Pocket carry mainly. Sometimes IWB; sometimes both depending on the situation.

August 8, 2007, 05:07 PM
I have many options for OWB and IWB, but . Since getting my Kahr I find myself mainly pocket carrying. The fact that the weather here in Florida is almost always hot (t-shirt and shorts weather) also helps make pocket carry a great option.

August 8, 2007, 08:48 PM
I voted OWB because I do that most oten , but also open carry .

Didn't vote, didn't give me 2 options.

Pocket and IWB.

August 8, 2007, 09:33 PM
I carry a SmartCarry holster with Kel-Tec P-3AT and Armalaser, and two spare mags 24/7.

August 8, 2007, 10:02 PM
IN the summer time I use inside waist band when I wear a jacket I wear outside of waist band.

August 9, 2007, 08:15 AM
OWB for years, but just bought an IWB I'm breaking in. Not as comfortable, but I'll probably get used to it. IWB does conceal a bit better under less covering, in my yet limited experience.

IWB for me. How else is a skinny guy gonna carry a 5" 1911?

August 9, 2007, 08:54 AM
50% IWB 50% OWB W/ A H&K USPc .40......According to what clothes I'm wearing....:)

August 9, 2007, 12:02 PM
I prefer strong side IWB. It's easiest for me to conceal and do it comfortably and the gun stays in position similar to my duty holster.

90% of the time IWB in a good holster with a good belt. Other 10% in the pocket to run to the local stop and rob.

August 9, 2007, 12:13 PM
95% IWB 8 o'clock
5% OWB 8 o'clock

1911, fwiw

85% IWB Tucker "The Answer"
10% Smartcarry
5% Desantis Nemesis pocket holster

August 9, 2007, 01:25 PM
Usually a G19 OWB, but sometimes a 1911 IWB, or a SW642 pocketed.
My overwhelming preference is the G19 OWB.

August 9, 2007, 10:39 PM
S&W 469& Glock 17 both in same tuckable Cross Breed IWB holster.

August 9, 2007, 10:47 PM
I carry OWBIB. That's "Outside the Waist Band, Inside the Belt". I lace the belt "backward" so that the belt wraps around the gun and holds it in tight for better concealment. I carry it at the 4:30 position.

My second choice and where I carry my BUG is in a shoulder rig.

Be careful who you choose to stand behind and support. If you are unwilling to take care of yourself, you must take whatever care that comes along. I've yet to see a flock of sheep, no matter how well cared for and tended, that doesn't get fleeced from time to time and eventually end up on the dinner table. Not many sheep die a natural death. warm weather p94 IWB

XD45 IWB & S&W 642 Pocket, I carry more IWB so that is the way I voted.

August 10, 2007, 08:03 AM
GP-100 OWB in a Desanti holster or a Kel-tec
P-11 in a pocket,both at once when i'am not
at work.

August 10, 2007, 09:15 AM
I wear a shirt that says "I have a gun!" No one would ever guess that a man with a gun would advertise. Brilliantly stupid.

August 10, 2007, 09:19 AM
By far I prefer IWB with a nice holster (such as my Tucker cover-up for my pt140pro). When I am wearing dress pants I often use a Smartcarry. Ocaasionally I pocket carry my P3at in a desanti's pocket holster.

August 10, 2007, 09:21 AM
right now im using a OWB holding a .38 special
